THE WINDOW PAIN

I sit and gaze beyond my window and suddenly a path appears,

A path down which I stumble and fall,

Always searching for the end.

But around each bend the path stretches on,

Seemingly without direction, seemingly endless.

In circles I travel, moving ever deeper into the dark unknown,

Never sure of which way to turn.

I hope for a glimpse into the distance,

Of the right turn to take, the best path to follow.

The answer remains elusive and the path slowly fades,

Until the panes of the window come back into focus.

I wonder if that path was even meant for me …
